Christian Coalition of America supporters need to call the members of the House Judiciary Committee and urge them to oppose the Meehan Amendment to the so-called lobby reform bill, S.1, when it is voted on in the House Judiciary Committee on May 15th. Congressman Martin Meehan, D-MA, is sponsoring an amendment which will hurt all grassroots organizations and their supporters. The Meehan amendment would establish federal regulations over efforts by grassroots groups to motivate American citizens to communicate with their elected representatives about bills which could be voted on in the United States Congress.

The President of Christian Coalition of America, Roberta Combs said: "The Meehan amendment to the lobby reform bill, S.1, is dangerous for democracy in America because it will discourage constituents from calling their Members of Congress on issues important to America. We encourage Christian Coalition supporters to call their Member of Congress to vote no on the Meehan amendment when it comes up for a vote."

2. Please call your own Member of the House of Representatives at 202-225-3121 or you can go to http://www.cc.org/contactcongress.cfm and email them and urge them to vote NO on the Meehan Amendment to the so-called lobby reform bill, S.1, on the House floor on May 22nd which will discourage Christian Coaliton action alerts such as this which keep ordinary citizens informed about important legislation moving through Congress.
